Like the subject says, I miss it. Ever since I switched to Cingular, I haven't been able to use it.
Is there ANY way to change the MMS server on a GSM phone? |

On a free and open phone there will simply be some sort of MMSC settings that you can change.
That's how a lot of the european gsm phones are. |

Thanks for the reply, Humpa. I can't seem to find anything in the phone, though.
I'll have to keep poking around. |

flapjack,
I've just been looking through the BB Pearl user guide and can't see anywhere you can change the mmsc settings either - which surprises me. Here in the UK you can change just about any gsm phone's settings. I did however find this which is a site selling unlocked Pearl's. Once the site is up, click on Support and part of it says:
"Internet Setting FIDO
Profile name: FidoWAP
blah
blah
blah
and then follows onto this:
To get MMS working (what I haven't included are the blanks and all boxes should be unchecked unless specified)
Setup-->Data Network
Profile Name: Fido MMS
APN: mms.fido.ca
Username: fido
Password: fido
Timeout: 15 minutes
Primary Gateway IP: 205.151.11.13
Port: 8080
Baud Rate: Auto
Line type: Modem
Timeout: off
Then click SAVE.
THEN
Messages-->Service Setup-->Multimedia Message
Default profile: FidoMMS
(all other settings are to your preference)
Tap the box beside Default Profile and ensure that FidoMMS is the default profile.
Settings for MMS profile goes
Profile name: FidoMMS
MMSC: http://mms.fido.ca
Max Sending Size: (your preference)
Network Profile: Fido MMS"
Does that help you at all? |

@Phree
Thanks for the reply. I don't have any settings like that in my phone, unfortunately. I do have an MMS field under Options, but nothing that I can edit.
Oh well.... it would've been nice. Maybe someone else knows how to do this. |
