I set up your MMS server on my website and it works very well. It was pretty easy, though I didn't understand step 2, chmod the cache and media folders. I didn't even have a cache folder, but anyway everything seems to be working smoothly.
I tried to search through the forum and google, but I couldn't see if it was possible to send regular text sms messages through your server. I could send a pix without an picture and that went through fine, but some phones can't get pix messages.
I have a Samsung u740 phones if that makes any difference.
Thanks,
Andy |

There is no SMS hacks.
But the forwarded MMS messages should be plain text - so if you can send a plain text email to a certain phone, then that same certain phone should be able to receive the forwarded MMS message that doesn't have a pic attached.
As to the cache folder, you can go ahead and create one right in your mms folder. That will help with rendering your thumbnails. The phpThumb generator will have to regenerate the thumbs every time you go to your page otherwise.
And for chmod'ing, that depends on what you are using for an ftp client or whatever - you can consult the FAQ's for whatever you are using for a client. |
