Okay so I may not be the first one, but out of all my reading, I could not find a good solution which took me days to figure out. So here is my story... sticky this if you like.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay first off, what I found is that with the Alltel flash, using VZW servers kinda screwed with me. I could send MMS's just find through VZW with Alltel, however if I edited my address it would not work. I think they are blocking it. So I looked into this "HoTTProxy" thing. I added my computer with the HoTTProxy and got my phone connected. It worked!! So then I tried the MMS, failed! Could not post to Humpas MMS Server! <sighs> So basically I watched the HoTTProxy log to find it was trying to login with my phone's phone number when it sent MMS's. But however used my username and password I assigned for WAP!! Hmmmmmmm.... so begins how I did it.
1. I guess you must use a Proxy connection! I couldnt make it work through VZW's
2. Edit Seem 2742 0001 Offset 62. Turn bit 5 on to enable MMS Server List.
3. Edit Seem 2742 0001 Offset 6a. Turn bit 3 on to enable 1XRTT Data Menu.
4. Install HoTTProxy (http://www.hottproxy.org/)
5. Follow its setup instructions, setup user for your WAP w/password
6. Setup a new user with your phone number
7. Goto your phone and type #073887*
8. Goto Websessions, create new websession based on your proxy.
9. Goto your Security Settings, goto 1XRTT Data
10. Type in your WAP user name and password for your HoTTProxy's WAP
11. Test your OpenWave browser to make sure it is using your proxy!
12. Goto your messages, options, inbox setup, MMS Setup, Server Info
13. Create or Edit a connection. Put in your MMS Server Address, use your WAP Proxy for your websession!!
14. Send a MMS to any email or Send to Online Photo Album.
15. Open up your HoTTProxy log and check what password your phone was trying to use! I will give a error with your phone number, and list a password.
16. Change your password on the HoTTProxy Phone Number User.
17. Retest your MMS, and it should work!
======================================================
Sorry if this is confusing, I am not a good instructor, but I tried to at least inform. Hope this helps anyone as much as it has for me! Good Luck! |

I was sucessful in seem editing the razr.
However the option to change my mms server still is not showing up.
I loaded the plug from my phone and looked to verify that the bit had been changed and it has.
Is there something I'm missing. |

You need to flash the phone with the Alltel flash in order to get the menu. |

unrealism... am I to assume that you have a v3c flashed with the alltel firmware and you can send pix to your pix server. If so, can you give me a little more detailed tutorial?
So far I have flashed my v3c to the alltel firmware. I run my own server, static ip. Do I still need HoTTProxy to continue? If so, do I also need to be running a wap server on my machine?
Sorry for all the questions, this is the last step I need to having a complete phone!
Thanks so much,

Yes it is - it isn't my post though.
... I just never noticed.
Edit: but I just fixed it. |
